Blithe Spirit is a comic play by Noël Coward about a novelist who invites a medium to his house to conduct a séance. The medium accidentally summons the spirit of his deceased first wife, Elvira, who tries to disrupt his marriage to his second wife, Ruth. The play is an improbable farce in three acts that explores the themes of love, jealousy, and the afterlife.
